. Larrikin

Dear Neville

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you and your team at Pine Harbour Painters for the Hull recondition you did on my launch Larrikin. So, when the job was complete and she was unmasked for the final time I have to say it was very hard to wipe the smile off my face! You have really brought her right back up to her former glory.

Thank you again Neville; the investment I have made with you has added years of life and considerable value to my launch and I cant wait to get her back out on the water to show her off!

Yours Faithfully

Rex Bignell

. Alcarzar's Glory

Pine Harbours Painters were contracted by Graham Lundie the owner of Alcarzar for a repaint project. He has been a customer since before I (Neville Smith) bought the paint shop. Over the years I have watched Graham maintain, modify and improve his launch. Every year Alcarzar comes out of the water, every year you could see Graham out there cleaning and polishing. So when Graham approached me about a repaint my first question was "Why?", as I knew it didn’t need it.

Graham replied, "I think it would look better without the stripes and also all the modifications over the years has left the boat half gel coat and half paint and I want it all the same".

That’s when I knew it had to be more than good!

I chose to do an Altex proof coat/final coat system: No.3 Epoxy Primer Undercoat, followed by an Elite Pro~Spray proof coat, wet sand and Elite Pro~Spray final coat, which was applied by Allen Watson. The results exceeded our high expectations with less cost and less processes than other leading brand marine paints.

I don’t know what Graham’s going to do on the hardstand now over the next decade, but he won’t need to be polishing to keep Alcarzar gleaming.

We will see Graham next winter, however for our bi-annual antifoul using Altex No.5 Antifouling. Like all of Pine Harbour Painters other 275 antifoul customers using No.5, every year they come up one year we apply two coats of No.5, then the next year a check over anodes etc and back in the drink - no problems.

I have found Altex products performance over the years dependable. The Altex staff and facilities in Tauranga is unmatched by any other marine paint company in New Zealand. Any queries are quickly sorted, our Altex appointed Sales Rep, Graham Brown, visits weekly and is a well of information.

New Zealand based products and people that perform - That’s what we need!
